Clock of Doom!

Welcome to Head Games

Head Games is a new development company working on PC gaming and mobile device software. In addition to developing a variety of applications for the iPhone, iPad, Android and Symbian devices, we are looking at ways of making PC gaming more intuitive and immersive.

Please stay tuned for updates.

HeadLock

The first Head Games project, 'HeadLock', uses a standard PC webcam to track the movement of a player's head. The movements are converted into key presses, to control the user's in-game character. HeadLock is initially intended to be used with any first person orientated game, but could eventually be used to control pretty much any software.

During the development phase of the HeadLock project, we are looking for beta testers to try out the software, free of charge for a limited period. In return we would like testers to provide feeback, report bugs and make suggestions on our forum. The download is available now, so register on the forum and send us your thoughts.

The screenshot below shows the in-development version of HeadLock. The image shows points of interest on the face being tracked across configurable regions. Movement from one region to another triggers configurable key presses.

HeadLock Update
Posted by HeadMaster on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 @ 12:55:52 UTC

In order to encourage broader use and more feedback, we have made a number of changes to our HeadLock application:

Firstly, and maybe most importantly, the application no longer requires registration to work. HeadLock will now work for all users, on any number of PCs, until the drop dead date of the 31st of December 2011. This has been done to allow more people to try the software, without having to worry about registering first on our website. Plus the process we used to tie the installation to a given PC was not always 100% reliable, so this change also removes that dependency. Feel free to pass HeadLock on to your friends, please just ask them to post on the forum from time to time, to let us know how they are getting on with it.

HEADLOCK DEMO - MODERN WARFARE 2
Posted by HeadMaster on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 @ 12:31:55 UTC

In this HeadLock demonstration, we show the HeadLock client being used with the recent Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2. Unfortunately the game developers have removed the lean options from the game, so we have configured HeadLock to reload the weapon and aim down the sight, when leaning left and right respectively.

HeadLock Demo - CoD4
Posted by ballman on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 @ 10:04:33 UTC

We have produced a short demonstration of our HeadLock software in action playing Call of Duty 4.  The clip shows a quick test of the control zones (in this case causing the player's character to lean, duck and crouch), prior to actually running through a mission.
